Membership Information
It is FUN and EASY to become a
Rescue Squad member! Our members range from 16 year old Cadets
to 80 year old life members, and nearly every age in-between.
If you are age 16 or 17, then you can join our Cadet program.
Cadets usually ride as "extra" members of a crew, gaining
valuable experience in first aid, patient care, and
interpersonal relations. As with all of our member types, we
require the Cadet to be CPR certified to level C (Professional),
and have either their First Aid card or their EMT
(Emergency Medical Technician). We require our Cadets to ride a
minimum of 12 hours per month in addition to keeping a "C" grade
average or higher in school (report cards must be submitted each
marking period).
If you are age 18 or over, then you can ride as either a Regular
or an Associate member. Both member types carry the same
certification requirements as the Cadet (CPR and First
Aid or EMT). However, Regular Members must ride 36 hours per
month, while Associates need only ride 24 hours per month.
We will provide all training if a prospective member doesn't
already have the necessary certifications. Basic uniforms
(coveralls) are also provided free of charge.
If you are an ex-squad member
who has been off the rolls for at least a year, and want to help
us out but either are no longer EMT certified or can't put in
the required 18 hour commitment, fear not! We have a new
membership category that will fulfill your needs! As long as you
are CPR-C certified and have your Standard First Aid card
current, you can become a "Resigned Riding" member. This category
has no hours requirements and no call percentage requirement.
