Membership Information

Are you interested in being a member of the East Brunswick Rescue Squad?

If you are age 18 or older, you can join as a regular member. We are always looking for qualified and dedicated EMTs! The hour requirement is (4) 12-hour shifts per month. Shifts are available days, nights, and weekends.

If you aren't an EMT, you can still join us! You would ride as an additional person on a standard two-EMT crew, and gain experience in patient care, first aid, and ambulance equipment. The minimum certification requirements are a professional-level CPR card (also called Healthcare Provider or BLS CPR) and a First Aid card. You would complete EMT training within 1 year of joining; classes are available at our building and often around NJ. Uniforms are provided, and we can help pay for training.

If you are age 16 or 17, then you can join our Cadet program. Cadets usually ride as 'extra' members of a crew, gaining valuable experience in first aid, patient care, and interpersonal relations. Cadets have a 12-hour-per-month riding requirement and must show us that they maintain 'C' average or higher in school. Space for cadets is limited: apply today to have the best chance to join us!

Email us at for more information or apply today! (Please note: our website is undergoing maintenance and the text of the application contains outdated hour requirements.) Contact for more information or apply today.
